Uruguay is niet alleen het land van gegrild vlees en thermosflessen vol maté, sinds kort is Uruguay voor mij ook het land van ene Nicolas Ovalle, aka Grobe Ovai. Deze nog zeer jonge Uruguayaan is naast zijn werkzaamheden als visueel artiest ook op het gebied van electronische muziek erg actief. Onlangs bracht hij op het netlabel Exponencial Audio de EP “Palpita Libertador” uit, welke hier gratis te downloaden is. Vooral de track “Misifuss” is een aanrader en zal nog regelmatig in mijn Last.fm profiel opduiken. Liefhebbers van donkere minimal doen er goed aan om deze jonge Uruguayaan een kans te geven.
De site van Nicolas Ovalle is momenteel nog volop in ontwikkeling, maar wel is er een live PA te vinden, die ook zeer de moeite waard is en een mooi voorproefje vormt voor degenen die zich nog niet aan de gratis EP vergrepen hebben. Download of stream de set hieronder:

Hello, im back again over here. This time i come with a New LIVE PA. This PA is oriented to dancefloor, 48 minutes of techno and minimal techno:
I do not think we have to talk a lot to describe this live, 48 new (is totally new, that is) minutes of original creation (expecion some samples: some voices of LibriVox and some samples of Mario).
Just one thing: Nicolas takes a new direction with this Live, its a paradign shift for himself.
