Fidget House
Jesse Rose zei vorig jaar in een interview het voglende over Fidget House: “We came up with ‘fidget house’ as a joke, which has now gone a little too far. Switch, Trevor Loveys, Herve and myself all make and play ‘fidget house’, and although we all have different influences we are influenced by music that isn’t straight-up house, like hyphy and bali funk.”
Wikipedia zegt over Fidget House het volgende:
“Fidget House has a 4/4 beat and a cut-up, glitch style which contrasts other dance genres such as progressive house and trance. The way in which it differs from other house music styles is that it usually discards the solo drum beat introduction, thus encouraging a more cut-up rather than blend mixing style amongst DJs. Other common elements of fidget house include vocal sample snippets and a prominent bassline which often bends in pitch, rather than progressing by the semitone.
With its emphasis on rhythm and bassline rather than harmony and melody, the roots of fidget house lie in early Chicago house. The synth ‘stabs’ and ‘pitched-up’ vocal snippets that commonly feature in fidget tracks are reminiscent of the rave and UK garage genres.”

Baltimore House
Wikipedia: “Baltimore club, also called “Bmore Club” or “Club Mix/Music” is a genre of house and dance music. A blend of hip hop and chopped, stacatto house music, it was created in Baltimore, Maryland in the early 1990s by pioneers Scottie B., Frank Ski, Big Tony, and DJ Spen.
Baltimore club is based on an 8/4 beat structure, and includes tempos around 130 beats per minute. It combines repetitive, looped vocal snippets similar to ghetto house and ghettotech. These samples are often culled from television shows such asSanford and Son andSpongeBob SquarePants, though can also be simple repeated calls and chants. The instrumental tracks include heavy breakbeats and call and response stanzas similar to those found in the go-go music of Washington, D.C.. More often than not, the breakbeats are pulled from two records: “Sing Sing” by disco band Gaz, and “Think (About It)” by Lyn Collins. Much like the rave-era sub-genre of techno music known asbreakbeat hardcore, Baltimore club sounds as if the music was intentionally hurried, as each song is made with a limited palette of sounds and is based on similar frameworks.”
