Het Amsterdamse STEIM (studio voor elektro instrumentale muziek) organiseert donderdagavond 7 februari twee bijzondere – noem het gerust experimentele – optredens. Het Japanse d.v.d. en het qua nationaliteiten meer eclectische gezelschap Diaspo Rama.

Wat kun je donderdag verwachten?
Veel drums, visuals en laptops. Op YouTube staan video-opnames van het d.v.d. collectief in actie. Vooral de combinatie tussen beeld en geluid ziet er spannend uit. Op de site van Diaspo Rama kun je enkele tracks luisteren.

d.v.d is one of the newest sensations in Japan, crossing over to the mainstream with their drum-controlled electro-pop visual performance. The two drummer are literally “players” in both the musical sense and a Nintendo sense. Diaspo Rama, lead by STEIM’s 2008 artistic advisor Tarek Atoui, is an energetic trio that explores complex rhythmic structure within the context of electro acoustic and improvised music.
